Mildred Kwarciak McGrath

Mildred Kwarciak McGrath was called to heaven on August 1, 2014 in Sandy, Utah.
Born on March 20, 1920 to Frank and Bessie Kwarciak, Mildred grew up in Rome, New York. Mildred was predeceased by Chester J. Sidelko and William "Bill"McGrath, her son, William F. Sidelko of Rome and her siblings, Dolly, Peppy, Eleanor and Tommy.
Mildred worked for the government for many years as a purchasing agent for the U.S. Air Force. Mildred moved with the air force to Oklahoma City and later to the Sacramento, California area where she lived for many years. She was an active member of the Elk's Club and had many dear friends she considered family. She enjoyed attending mass, traveling, playing cards, dining out and spending time with friends and family.
In addition to her son, Paul, Mildred leaves behind five grandchildren and their families, Tracy Sidelko Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Lauri Sidelko of Old Town, Maine, and from Sandy, Utah, Amber and Sean Caldwell, Tim Sidelko and Chris Sidelko. She had ten great-grandchildren and a large, loving extended family that she cherished.
In 2009, Mildred moved to Salt Lake City to be near her son. This gave her the opportunity to become very close with her grandchildren ,especially Amber and her family. According to 9-year old, Shantae, "My great grandmother was very loving and cared about others before she cared about herself." She also found a new "family" in the residents and staff at Wentworth assisted living facility. Often referred to as "the life of the party," Mildred was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved by many and will be missed every day.
A private service for family members was held Sunday, August 3rd at St. Thomas More church in Sandy, UT.
