SHELLEY DALTON Obituary

Shelley Kay Dalton 1957 ~ 2011 Shelley Kay Dalton was born on August 30, 1957 to Ruben and Rozella Skogerboe and returned home to her Heavenly Father on March 24, 2011. She was loved by all who came in contact with her and was known for her upbeat personality and her ability to not let the adversities in her life get her down. Shelley was the youngest of five siblings and accomplished many things in her life; she ran a successful window washing business, was a computer tech, raised seven children and still had time to become a wiz in the kitchen. Shelley was a convert to the LDS Church, and faithfully held many callings. She never ceased to see the miracles of God in her everyday life and in the lives of her children. Not only was she a sweet soul, but she also had an adventurous side and loved to watch movies that could make her laugh. One of her greatest pleasures in life was to spend time with her children and grandchildren, and she made sure this happened as often as possible. Her titles included: Daughter, Sister, Mom, Grammy, Grandma and Friend, just to name a few. Shelley was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Skog, and her daughter Jennifer. Shelley is survived by her siblings and her six children Peter (Mindy), Josh (Julie), Moses (Keri), Celeste (Marshall) Crabtree, Hannah (Adam) Halstrom, and Yasharah, as well as her eight grandchildren. Not only was Shelley our Mom, she was our teacher, example and best friend. Memorial services will take place at Larkin Mortuary (2350 East 1300 South) on Thursday, March 31th at 11:00 a.m., with viewing services held Wednesday, March 30th from 6 - 8 p.m.

May I express my love for Shelley. We all had MS, but met at the U. for workouts 3X a week. I haven't seen her for awhile & am so sorry for your loss. She loved her family so much & so appreciated seeing the grandkids & holding them on her lap. She loved the nice clothes you bought her. I'll miss her so much. Love, Dorothy Chamberlain

To Shelley's Family,
I worked with Shelley at Salt Lake Community College/Skills Center. She was a work study student in my office. I learned so much from Shelley and how to face any obstacle with strength and hope. She was an inspiration to me in all she did here both as a student and co-worker. She really deserves all the blessings of heaven.

Shelly was in my computer classes at SLCC. We all loved her. After completing her classes, we continued to stay in touch and she became my dear friend. She was beautiful inside and out. I will miss her. I am a better person because I knew her. We all are.

For shellys children, your mom was a kind and loving spirit. When you were very young I remeber the love and pride she took in all of you. I learned much from her example when raising my little ones. Bless all of you and your little ones.

To Shelley's family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss and pray that the blessings of the Atonement may be with you at this time. Though I am so glad to know that Shelley is with her Heavenly Father walking his halls in heaven. She was an angel, an inspiration, and truly like another mother to me. I was honored to be able to work with her at Willow Wood and will always consider her a close friend. She was ever anxiously engaged in a good cause and brought light into many people's lives. She will be missed but we all have become better having known her.

I knew Shelly at the MS exercise clinic up at the university. She always had a smile to share with everyone. She was inspirational in helping me learn to cope with this disease myself. She kept working and trying. My first thought when I heard about her passing, was how joyful she must feel to be able to walk now in Heaven.

Mom, words can't express how much you meant to me. I looked forward to our everyday phone calls and chats about life's happenings. I will miss them very much. But mostly I will miss seeing your face and hearing your calming voice. I dream of the day that I can hug you again. You were and always will be my teacher, my example and my best friend. Love you with all my heart! See you in heaven.

To Shelly's family-
I'm sorry to hear of Shelly passing.
I would regularly frequent Willow Wood Care Center to visit with my mother and I got to know Shelly as a result.
She always seemed to have a very positive attitude and she would usually ask me how I was doing. In spite of how she was doing, she always seemed to be concerned about how others were doing.
I pray for the Lord's peace and comfort to be with you at this difficult time and always.
