Reid Otley Obituary

Reid Randall Otley
1950 - 2017
Reid Randall Otley better known as Randy, died Friday, August 25, 2017 surrounded by those he loved. He was born November 3, 1950 to William and Virginia Otley joining his big sister Madelyn. He graduated from South High School in 1969 and married his high school sweetheart, Judy Newren in April 1970 and together they had four children. Randy was defined by his work ethic and loyalty in his professional life. He enjoyed auto racing, sports, classic cars, spending time with his grandchildren and drives with his loyal "guard" Shih Tzu Jake. Retirement brought extra time for Randy to spend time in his robust garage, where he collected novelty signs, painted yard decorations and fixed things only grandpas can fix.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy; their four children Heather (Chad) Jones, Gregory, Darren (Annie), and Susan; as well as his five grandchildren Charlie, LaRue, Ella, Quinn and Lydia.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to either of Randy's favorite causes - The Ronald McDonald House or The American Legion.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the LDS Chapel, 87 East 7100 South, Midvale, where friends may call upon the family one hour prior.

Randy is a great guy--he was always good to me, helped me anytime I needed help, whether it was with my A/C, my car or putting dead cats in the trash can. He was a great brother-in-law and I love him for loving my sister. I just love him--period. He was loved by many people and will be greatly missed. This is only temporary, Randy, Till we meet again, Love you, Laura.
