Raymond Granger Obituary

1978 ~ 2016
Raymond William Granger was born on August 1, 1978 in Salt Lake City. He passed from this life at age 37 on February 19, 2016 after a long struggle with chronic illness.
Ray graduated from Olympus High in 1998 and from Carroll College (Helena, MT) in 2003 with a BA in sociology. He was naturally athletic and excelled especially in baseball, skiing, surfing and fishing.
He worked on the South Fork of the Snake River as a trout fishing guide, the great love of his life. He was a talented, dedicated fisherman, and fly tier. He was a lifeguard at the Holladay Lions Rec Center, and worked at the Veterans Hospital Canteen serving our Veterans.
Above all he loved his family and did everything he could for them. He was always kind, caring and patient. He so much enjoyed being with his nieces and nephews. He took every opportunity to make time for the children, helping them to develop their own skills.
Everyone who ever new Ray, was fond of him. It is with unimaginable sadness that his parents, Donald and Polly Granger and siblings; brother, Art (Becky) Granger and children, Anna and Ben, and sisters; Annie Granger and her son, Dion, and Aileen Fennelly (Ben) and children, Will and Claire, and extended family in NY, Ohio, and Utah; and friends mourn his premature death. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish Church on Saturday, February 27th, 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Valor House at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (call 801-584-0700). For online condolences and memories may be shared at aspenfh.com

Dear Don and Polly,
John told me abut the death of your son and I can't express how very sorry I am for your loss. From his obituary, it seems as if he was a caring, fun and giving person. I can only hope that your fond memories of him will help to ease the pain in the time to come. I remember many fun play dates at your home. Fondly, Joan
