Florence Ziska Obituary

January 10, 1924 ~ September 17, 2015
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully passed away of natural causes on September 17, 2015.
She was born on January 10, 1924 to Paul and Hattie Meliska in Cleveland, Ohio. Florence was a natural born leader which made her an excellent employee as a supervisor at J.C. Penny for ten years until her retirement. She was not only a loving and generous mother and grandmother, but had a fierce loyalty and devotion to her family. She loved to travel and did so with her family, especially with her daughter Melinda, many times throughout the years. These times will be treasured.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Warren Ziska. She is survived by children, Melinda (Val) Kirkham, James, Jennifer, Karen and her two daughters; Sarah and Amanda and their daughters; Sarinah and Abbey, respectively. Florence is also survived by her sister Alice (Don) Schlegel, brother Charles (Janice) Meliska and sister Margaret Meliska (deceased).
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, followed by a short graveside service. A viewing will be held a half hour prior to the service.
