KRISTOPHER TAFT Obituary

Kristopher Allen Taft In Loving Memory Our loving husband, father, son, brother and friend, Kris, passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly November 12, 2010.Kris was born February 7, 1977 in Santa Maria, California to J. Neil and Sandra J. Allen Taft. He earned the Eagle Scout rank and loved the Scouting program where he also worked with the youth. Kris enjoyed wrestling in high school. He attended Alta High School where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Allison L. Rogers. They were married September 6, 1994 and sealed two years later in the Salt Lake Temple. Kris loved his country and flew her flag proudly. He served his country in the US Army as a Combat Engineer. He loved the time he spent fighting with the UFC with a record of 32 - 1. He worked with troubled youth at Cottonwood Treatment Center and always had a place in his heart for them. He was a salesman by nature, but always returned to his love of cars. He was a licensed realtor, and most recently managed for AAMCO Transmissions. Kris had a wonderful sense of humor and a great love for music. Kris was a wonderful father and husband. He and Allison are raising four great kids, Brenton Ivan, Tayler Alexis, Weslie Eden, and Clayton Jeffery. They will miss their fishing trips with Dad, 4-wheeling in the mud, and his great cooking. He was a man with a generous heart - never leaving anyone stranded or without. Survived by his loving wife, Allison; his four children; parents; sisters, Meela (Ben) Tippetts, KariAnne (Jeremy) Olson; father-in-law, Brian; and many extended family members. Preceded in death by his grandpas, Vern Ivan Taft and Owen W. Allen Jr.; cousin, Tyler Rauzon and his mother-in-law, Elaine. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 20th, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church on 552 E. 11400 So. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. In lieu of flowers a trust fund has been set up for Kris and Allison's children at Mountain America Credit Union under the Kris Taft Children Fund. Online condolences www.memorialutah.com

Kris - We are so blessed to have you for our son. We have so many memories of you growing up and as the wonderful man you are today. You have been such a special gift. We will miss you so much....your sense of humor, your love and hugs, your words of wisdom and comfort, and tender words about your family and your sisters. Just YOU being YOU…
You have been such an example of giving and sharing. You never complained at being sick - just always reminding us how good like can be. You have always been so strong . I know that you have gone before all of us and will be the one to greet us when we pass through the veil. Kris we love you and always will.
I long for the day when we will see you again. What a blessing and a comfort it is to know that Families can be Together Forever.
Love you and always will, Mom and Dad

Kris, I know we didn't know each other well but from what I do know from the short time we spent with you and Allison - was that you two are so in love. Just watching your playful banter over dinner was enough to see that two people couldn't love each other more. Your personality was so magnetic and you drew people into the conversation. Never once did I hear you complain. You are hilarious and I really appreciate how much you made us feel welcome. Its easy to see from reading these posts about you that you are someone who has made a great impression on all those you have come in contact with. We send our love and prayers to your sweet family and wish we had more memories to share. You will be missed.

Taft family,
Scott, Delilah and I are very lucky to have had my parents move next door to you and get to know all of you, and especially Kris. He was always laughing and joking and that will be missed. You are a very strong family and I know in my heart you will be able to get through this, even though it will be an uphill battle. God Bless and we all will miss one more brave military man!

Kris, "TURBO",
Words don't express the shock and sadness I feel right now, my heart is so heavy. I am going to miss you horribly! You always had an uplifting word for me when we talked, or a joke to make me smile. I'll miss the stories of your kids, your laugh, and your silly ringback tones. You were larger than life. I have enjoyed our friendship, and my sympathy goes out to your family, they have lost a "WONDERFUL MAN!" Rest in Peace my friend may you be rid of your pain! Love ya man!

Kris my love, how do I express the loss I feel from losing you? It just doesn't feel real yet. You were my best friend, my lover, and the father of our children. I am so mad at you then I simply break down in tears wondering how I can do this alone. I miss your joking and teasing, your strong arms holding me up, my children laughing and simply enjoying their dad. I miss you my love but we are strong and will get through this somehow. I am so grateful you are now free, no longer in pain and able to watch over our children, I am so blessed for the short time we had together and can't wait to once again be by your side. Love Always, Allison
