KUED, Salt Lake City, Utah, a PBS station, airs a series called "Mystery." It is hosted by Diana Rigg. Included as a part of this series are several shows named "Inspector Morse." After the last episode of this program in which Inspector Morse dies, and because he was a peculiar man, Diana Rigg quoted the following: "On a day in early spring 1827, an actor stood at the edge of a modest grave and eulogized another white-haired misanthrope, Ludwig van Beethoven. 'He was a human being in the words' fullest meaning. Because he shut himself off from the world, they called him hostile and because he avoided emotion-unfeeling. But when he fled the world, it was because in the depths of his loving heart he found no weapon to resist it. When he withdrew from people, it occurred after he had given them his all and received nothing in return. He remained lonely because he found no other. But until his death, he retained a humane heart toward all people. So he was-so he died-and when he died, we wept.'"
A memorial service will be held for family at a later date.

I have a picture that was painted by Grandpa Phelan and given me as a wedding gift in 1985. This picture has followed me from Kankakee, IL to Atlanta, GA. Tuesday morning, that picture that I pass everyday stood out and seemed to come alive. You are home! Thank you for loving ALL if your grandchildren! Rest in Paradise, Grandma Phelan!

My first memory of my dear cousin, Beverly (aka "Sam") was at my family's (Wayne and Virginia Droubay Huish) home on 9th South in Salt Lake City. I was fortunate to reconnect with Beverly and her family about 5 years ago. Her beautiful face--always with a smile--and her wonderful sense of humor, will be remembered, as will her kindness and strength. We have lost a great lady; however, she is now in a glorious place. My sincere condolences to her family, and may God grant you peace and comfort at this sorrowful time. With love,
Anne Huish Stewart

I knew Beverly as "Sam" as a step brother. She was kind and always a lady. I understand she wrote her obit...simply a "classic" from a classy lady.
