Robert Riga Obituary
Robert E. Riga, 78, passed away June 22, 2014 surrounded by loved ones.
Robert was born July 19, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Angelo and Lula (Jones) Riga.
Robert's greatest love was his beautiful bride of 60 years Barbara (Kooyman) and his greatest joy was the family they created together.
He graduated from West High School, served in the U.S. Army and retired as a laboratory head inspector after serving 36 years at Chevron Refinery.
He had a passion for history, music, Italian food and good wine. He will forever be remembered for his unconditional love of family, his inner strength, integrity and selflessness.
He will be deeply missed by those left behind: his soul-mate Barbara, children Debbie, Steve (Mindy), grandchildren Matthew (Kimberly), Angelo (Anna), Daniel, Kira Marie and Anthony, great-grandchildren Domanik, Gianni, Angelo and Amelia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and granddaughter.
A private family funeral mass was celebrated June 26, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Nonutz, you were an amazing, strong, selfless man whom we will never forget. Your love for Nonna was truly one of a kind. It was the kind of love that you read about. I feel very fortunate to have been able to be by your side. I have never felt more proud to have the Riga name. You will live on in each of us for the rest of our lives. Your legacy of family will stay strong in all of us. I can't believe it will already be two weeks tomorrow since you left this earth. I miss you so much and think about you every day. Thank you for always showing me unconditional love. I love you, Nonutz. Fly high with the angels!
