Edwardo Arispe Obituary

ARISPE
Edwardo Arispe, went to meet our Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2014 after a short illness. Ed was born August 22, 1947 in San Antonio, TX, to Salvador and Pauline Arispe. He grew up on the west side of San Antonio, attending Fox Tech High School, until he joined the Army. He served in the Army until his retirement 22 years later. He received numerous decorations including the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (1st and 50th), with the Gallantry Cross and Palms, the Army Commendation Medal with one device, the Army Achievement Medal with three devices, the National Defense Medal with one device, Vietnam Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Medal, and the Army Service Medal. After his retirement he enjoyed life, especially after meeting his wife, Mildred "Tootsie" Hepworth. Ed and Tootsie complimented each other and had 17 fun filled years together. Ed especially enjoyed his work as "Wero" a professional clown with the Jolly Joeys Clown Alley group. Ed delighted children from all around San Antonio and his only reward was the smiles and laughter of the children. Ed loved to participate in the different parades in the city and delight the crowd with his clown mobile. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Salvador and Pauline Arispe and his brother Richard. He is survived by his loving wife, Mildred "Tootsie" Hepworth, his daughters Pauline Bosmans (Steve), Darline Dallas (Darcy), his step-children, Linda Bunch, Karen Grady, Marvin Hepworth Jr (Martha), Roger Hepworth (Marie), Barbara Klingbeil (Richard), Walter Hepworth (Julie) and by his loving sisters and brother; Janie Gamez (Gilbert), Carmen Villereal (Paul), Maryann Heiser (Roger), Tony Arispe and Step-sister Jovita Cordova. Ed is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews that loved Ed deeply and will miss his quick laugh and unique sense of humor.

I will regret forever never making it to San Antonio to visit my very good friend, SSG Arispe. We made a lot of memories together in Ft Riley, Honduras and Ft Leonard Wood. Ed would always ask about my family and my folks each time we visited over the phone. He was a good man, and a sense of humor that I will not forget.
Rest in place, my friend. I look foreword to seeing you in Heaven.

Edwardo my friend, you will be missed a great deal. I treasure all the good times we had while stationed together, and know that I could have counted on you at any time for a great laugh. I remember when you told my mother-in-law to tell Todd that the Mexican mafia was trying to get a hold of him. That poor woman didn't know what to think. I regret not calling more often. Rest in peace my brother, Love you and God bless your family.
