Henry Rodriguez Obituary
Henry T. Rodriguez, born to Guadalupe B. Rodriguez and Annie Gonzales, was on May 21, 1950 and was called to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2015. Henry will be greatly missed by his loving wife of twelve years, Julia Rodriguez, his children, Michael Moke, (grandchild, Robert), Jesusita L. Rodriguez, Enrique I. & Yvette Rodriguez, Emilio & Kate Silvas, (grandchildren Emilio, Marelys, Miguel), Martin Silvas & Jorge Sundberg (pooch, Sissy), Brandon & Trisha Silvas (granddaughters, Ariana and Yalena), Danielle & Mario Barrera (grandsons, Aidan and Damian). His sister, Catherine R. & Edward Garcia, ((nephew, Mark & Eva Garcia (great nephews/nieces, Mark, Madalyn, Luke and Emily), niece, Patricia Duarte (great nephew, Jared), nephew, Christopher Garcia, his baby sister Grace Delgado & Ron Wyatt (nephew/niece, Kevin Delgado, Kathryn Delgado & Joseph Martinez)) and his brother, Philip J. & Ava Rodriguez (nieces, Victoria and Ashley) aunts, Alice Navarro and Dorthy Gonzales; uncles, Ernest, Joseph and Sam Gonzales as well as numerous other relatives. Randy Oakes and Marty DeHann his two side kicks, whom were considered family rather than his long time best friends. Henry served in the Air Force Reserves attaining the rank of MSgt. He earned the AF Achievement MDL, AF Outstanding Unit Award, Combat Readiness Medal, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service MDL, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon, National Defense Service MDL. As a civilian, he was employed by the U.S. Air Force as a Contract Negotiator. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Oklahoma; however due to illness returned home and no longer could fulfill his capacity. Henry attended St Henry's Catholic School, Holy Cross High School and Southwest College in San Marcos. Henry enjoyed reading classic poems and enjoyed animals.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 1:00pm until 9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm at Castillo Mission Funeral Home. Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30am on Friday, June 12, 2015 for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Henry's Catholic Church. Inurnment will take place at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Henry and I go way back and I consider myself blessed to have been a good friend of Henry's. We worked closely together at both the 433 AES (what was then the 34 AES) and at KAFB. Henry was so fun to be around and I will forever remember those things he did (moon over Yakima, etc) that kept us all in stitches!! Henry will be truly missed. Henry and I shared a few beers during a reserve unit TDY in Germany. We also worked several years together at the SA Air Logistics Center. He was a good friend and had a good heart.
