Esmael Ramirez Obituary
Esmael "Smiley" Ramirez, age 62 passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. He attended Harlandale High School, a Vietnam veteran and purple heart recipient; he served in the US Army. Mr. Ramirez was employed with the US Post Office and retired after 30 years. Smiley was a true friend, generous and always willing to help others including our 4 legged friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Josefina Ramirez; son, Elliott Ramirez; daughters and sons in law, Emma and Brian and Everly and Alex; several brothers and a sister, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Jesus Aguilar for all his help. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 19, at 5:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be offered on Thursday, May 20, at 9:30 AM at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. I want you all to know that in the short time that I knew Smiley he made a big difference in my life and that of my family. I will always treasure his friendship all the days of my life . His “Acts of Random Kindness” to everyone is something I hold dear to my heart. He was a true follower of Christ. He lived the Gospel. I thank God for the gift of his friendship and of his family.

In this very sorrowful time in your lifes be mindful of all the prayers and condolences from family and friends of this wonderful man. He was so very tranquil and had inner peace that is only attained from having a personal relationship with our Lord the redeemer JESUS CHRIST. I wish to express my sincere condolences to Smiley's family and friends. I am truly saddened to hear of his passing. I had the privilege of knowing him while he was the mailman to our law firm. He had an amazing ability to brigten a room as soon as he stepped into it. I've continued to remember him fondly since his retirement and a I will in his passing. My prayers are with you all.
