MORALES
Nellie Flores Morales, died peacefully on February 14, 2012 at the age of 94 years in Roseville, CA. She joins her beloved husband, Pete, and loving daughter, Sylvia, who died on the same day in 2004. Mrs. Morales was born on October 7, 1917 in La Coste, Texas to Amalia Hinojosa and Jesus Flores. After the death of her father in 1918 when Nellie was only 1 year old, Jose Olivan Sr. became her step father. While working in Natalia, Texas she met Pete, the love of her life. They married and raised three girls. In addition to being a devoted mother, wife, and homemaker, Mrs. Morales and her husband operated a "mom and pop: neighborhood store, Tilden Grocery on Stafford and Tilden Streets in San Antonio for many years. Mrs. Morales was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Her belief on God manifested itself in the love, kindness, and generosity she shared with all who knew her, and in her daily prayers for family, friends, and strangers. She was an active member of a neighborhood watch program and community action group (COPS). She loved to dance. In her later years she delighted sharing riddles, with children and strangers she met. Even those she met briefly liked her and remember her fondly. She is survived by daughter, Lali (Greg) Hearn of Roseville, CA and daughter, Hope (Larry) Dotson, Nunnelly, TN, daughter, Sylvia DiSylvestro preceded her in death. Grandchildren include Tracy, Lori, and Dennis Dotson of Dickson, Virginia Beach, and Nunnelly, TN (respectively). Other grandchildren are Michelle Ferrie, Richard DiSylvestro, and Ronnie DiSylvestro of Pennsylvania, and seven great-grandchildren. Surviving sisters and brothers are: Dolly Segura, Valentina Ramos, Wesley Olivan, Maria Garcia, Maria de Jesus Flores, and Richard Olivan. Deceased are: Virginia Cassidy, Jose Olivan, and Fabian Olivan, She also leaves many nieces and nephews, and friends in San Antonio and LaCoste, Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19th, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Alamo Funeral Home. 211 Brooklyn Ave., San Antonio, Texas. A mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 20th at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in LaCoste, Texas, followed by graveside services. Arrangements are with:
