Timothy Huntzinger Obituary

October 18, 1956 - October 28, 2015
Cowboys never die. Their legends live forever.

Born Timothy Joseph Huntzinger, he was later nicknamed as "little Timmy in between". After naming himself TJ The Huntzinger he went on to live life on his own terms. Born in Omaha, NE he became a true Texan at age 7. He inherited his Mom's piercing blue eyes and captivating charm and his Dad's artistic talent and creativity. TJ was exceptionally skilled and self-taught as a carpenter, (loved to tell how he mastered a jackhammer at 12), home- builder, cowboy, farrier, auctioneer, artist, and publisher of a horse-trading journal.

He is especially remembered for his sense of humor and wit. He kept all who surrounded him laughing, whether at the Thanksgiving table, dance halls or the front porch. Where one or more gathered, TJ was at the center telling a tale, a joke or poking fun. Till his last breath he made us laugh till we cried.

TJ, with his handle bar mustache most relished his life as a rambling cowboy. He was a bull-ridin, bronc-bustin, calf-ropin, whip-crackin wrangler who danced his own custom two-step. His hats were not to be touched, which kept his nephews and nieces entertained in a comedic contest of grab it and run. He lived and loved in his Texas Hill Country towns. His spirit forever lives on in the sounds of the horses, the breeze of the hills, laughter in the bars and in the dust of rodeo days.

To quote TJ, he was passing from this adventure, on to the next.

TJ, your family and friends love you and will miss you dearly. Ride on to that next great adventure, get things started and we'll catch up.

He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Huntzinger, son, Timothy Joseph "Colt" Huntzinger, grandson, Connor Jacob Bragg, and his nephew Adam Christopher Huntzinger. He is survived by his cherished mother, Peggy Huntzinger, beloved daughter, Jolyn Bragg and (husband) Michael, granddaughters, Callahan and Camryn, siblings, Howard "Jake" Huntzinger, Daniel Huntzinger (wife) Sabrina, Ann Huntzinger-Roberson, Therese Huntzinger (partner) Jan, Philip Huntzinger (wife) Christina, Mary Huntzinger, Carrie Lyn Huntzinger (mother of his children and soul mate) numerous aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers consider a donation to the Southwest SIDS Research Institute in memory of TJ's son "Colt".

I remember TJ from the Broken B at the team penning. He was the backbone of the Broken B & when he left, no one wanted to stay. So people like me, just moved on because the Broken B just wasn't the same without TJ. I have very fond memories of the Broken B & TJ. Any old Broken Bers out there please contact me through text @ (210) 618-6975 since I have problems with E-mail. Bobbie

I remember the license plate number of that old truck you had while at Broken B...189 4TJ... You were worth more than a 1.89. Had fun at all the barrel fires at the end of the night after roping, cutting or just horse play.

And Skip A Rope always brings you to mind.

A good man that couldn't be wrangled unless he wanted to be.

With love and fond memories -

Love you Dad! There're still days where the sun shines perfectly and the breeze is just right. And, all I want to do is sit on a porch and talk with you.

You taught me how not to start smoking. You always told me you would rough up any man who tried to hurt me. You never had to but I believed you would have if I needed it. You taught me how to drive. You kept me laughing even in your last years and last days. Watch over us. Forever loved. Your baby sis, Mary.
