Arthur Vick Obituary
Our beloved Dad, Capt. Arthur Palmer Vick was called to heaven by angels on Jan. 5, 2012. He was born on Jan. 16, 1916, in Conroe, TX, the first born of William Arthur Vick and Laura Amelia Palmer. He first joined the army in 1935 and was stationed in Marfa, TX in the 77 th Field Artillery. He participated in both WWII and the Korean conflict. Upon retiring from the Army in 1960, he sold major appliances at Montgomery Ward until 1978. He was active in the Optimist Club, helping sell Christmas trees for many years to raise money for their charities. Capt. Vick is survived by his wife, Thelma Vanell Vick, and four children from his deceased first wife, Dolores; William Vick and his wife, Maria Elena, Arthur Vick and his wife, Kathleen, Gloria Kotara and her husband, Walter, and Michael Vick and his wife, Kellyann. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Valerie Vick, Carmen Vick, Gail Albers, Grace Havens, and Kyle Vick, and four great-grandchildren, Derek, Ryan, Isaac, and Alanna. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
