NAKAKIHARA
Jacqueline Nakakihara passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011 in Los Angeles. Jacqueline was born in San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by parents, Enrique and Sarah De La Rosa. Jacqueline attended DePaul University in Chicago and graduated from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. She had a successful career as a marketing director. She had passions for oil painting, making jewelry, cooking, gardening and entertaining. Those who met her loved her immediately. She will be greatly missed. Jacqueline is survived by her adoring husband, Douglas Nakakihara and step-daughter, Taylor Nakakihara of Culver City, CA; sister, Jeannette Melendrez, and nephews Pvt. Jerry Chavez II and Jonathan Chavez of Floresville, TX; and sister, Jennifer Olmos and nieces Sarah and Jacqueline Olmos of Houston, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, 7990 SW Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78227 with Rev. Msgr. Adolfo Valdivia Aguirre as main celebrant. An informal reception will immediately follow at the Church. Her final resting place will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UCLA Foundation, UCLA Health System's Partnership for Care, UCLA Medical Sciences Development, 10945 Le Conte Avenue, Suite 3132, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1784 (https://giving.ucla.edu/pfc) in Jacqueline's name.
