Olive Jarvis Obituary

Olive Christine Jarvis, born April 3, 1939 in Hindman, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Friday, September 26 at her home in New Braunfels, TX. She was a world traveler with hundreds of friends living around the globe. As an artist she studied the different cultures of the places she lived and collected artwork from her favorite countries. She married Jerry Clyde Jarvis on September 10, 1960 at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA. As a loving wife of 48 years she supported his United States Air Force career by volunteering for the Wives' Club, Red Cross and children's programs. She was a devoted mother to her two sons and actively participated in their clubs and school activities. As a grandmother she spoiled and doted on her four grandchildren with art projects, creative games and shopping sprees. The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Brook Army Medical Center for their professional care and friendship during her long illness and the caring and skilled staff at Hope Hospice. Christine is survived by her husband Jerry, sons Robert Vincent Jarvis and his wife Dawna of Sugar Land, TX.; and Jerry Clyde Jarvis, Jr. of Baltimore, MD. Her step-father, George Payne, Sr.; brother George Payne, Jr. and his wife Patti; and sister Jean Shadday all of St. Petersburg, FL. Her grandchildren, Ian Jarvis, Devin Jarvis, Ciara Jarvis and Wheeler Jarvis. A memorial service will be held at Grace Memorial Church, 2450 FM 725 in New Braunfels on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 11:00 am.
