Kathleen Johnston Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 28, 2008.
Our loving mother, Kathleen Ann Keating Johnston passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite and Edward Keating and her husband, Peter R. Johnston. An only child, Kathy was born January 3, 1953, and adopted shortly after at Fort Bragg, NC. Her formative years were spent traveling with her military parents around the world. She especially loved living in Orleon, France. Kathy and her husband, Peter, spent a lifetime working with Scouts, receiving top honors as adult scouts and leaders. Also, she dedicated a great deal of time to helping the Red Cross. Additionally, she enjoyed working for the YMCA, a career path she followed for many years. Her children, Jennifer Marie Johnston, Peter R. Johnston, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kelly, will miss her sweet spirit. Kathy had a special love for her grandchildren, Austin & Joseph North, Sherri & Seth Johnston, who brought her great joy in recent years. A special thanks to her lifelong friend, Jimmy Weeber. A celebration of Kathy's life will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2008, 3:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park Gazebo with interment to follow.
