I wanted to express my deepest sympathies to the family of Bud Ryder. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I was so glad to hear what an extraordinary man he was, both personally and in his distinguished military career. Bud's family members are in my thoughts and prayers.

This is a great loss of a great soldier and long-term football player. We had some good times and many delightful days in Europe, especially our little trip in Garmisch Partenkirchen. I remember Bud breaking his arm on the Zugspittze.
I would like to give my condolences to your whole family and am so sorry to hear about your loss.
best wishes,
Allan R. Scullen, comrade of Bud
