William Thomas Obituary
Lt. Col. William R. (Bill) Thomas, USAF (Ret.), age 79, of San Antonio, passed away April 14, 2010. He was born May 1, 1930 in Berkeley, CA to Kenneth E. and Mildred W. Thomas. Lt. Col. Thomas graduated from West Point in 1954 with a B.S. and George Washington State University in 1964 with a M.S.B.A. He retired from the Air Force in 1975 and began a teaching career at San Antonio College in the Management Department. He retired from San Antonio College in 1994. Lt. Col. Thomas served at numerous locations while in the Air Force, including Israel, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand where he received the Bronze Star. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce; daughter, Joan and her husband, Joe Ferlet of Lake Jackson, TX; son, William and wife, Cindy of Waukesha, WI; brother, Richard and his wife, Fini of Ft. Collins, CO; four grandchildren, Jason, Jon, Jennifer Ferlet, and Lauryn Thomas. As requested, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the William R. Thomas Scholarship Fund, ACCD Foundation, 201 West Sheridan, Suite C-3, San Antonio, TX 78204.
