SMITH
Donald S. Smith, age 82, cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and overall exceptional person passed to his heavenly reward after a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia on July 27, 2010. Don was a true patriot having attended Yale University in the Navy, graduation from West Point in the Army in 1950, and afterward entering the Air Force. He was assigned as an instructor at the new Air Force Academy. Working with the young cadets was both a challenge and an honor and he quickly found his voice in the classroom. Later, he traveled all over the world as a marketing manager for several electronics companies while living in the south of France and in Munich, Germany. Don will be remembered for his loving dedication to his family, always having a great sense of humor and never saying an unkind word. Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Gilbreath Smith; son, Don (Patti); daughters, Sheryl Stouffer (Blair) and Alyssa Tucker (Steven); sister, Virginia Mayforth (Robert); his adorable and adoring grandchildren, Chelsea, Donnie, Natalie, Kristin, Blake, Devon, and Paige; and great grandchildren, Hunter, Blake, Emily and Brenden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
