Amando Herrera Obituary
Amando "Mando" S. Herrera III, BSN, RN, CCRN, CPAN passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the age of 49. He was born on November 3, 1968 in San Antonio, Texas. Mando was a devoted partner, son, brother, uncle, friend, and registered nurse. He dedicated his life to all he came in contact with. Mando graduated from Holy Cross H.S., and went on to graduate from The University of Pennsylvania. He began his career as a Cardiac Care Nurse, and added certifications such as: Care Coordinator, PACU Nurse, and Director. He was later published in The American Nursing Journal. Mando's quick wit and sassiness will be missed by all. He is reunited in heaven with grandparents Anita and Amando Sr., and his father, Amando Jr. He is loved and will be missed by his partner Mike, mother Sylvia, siblings Yvonne, Theodore, and Vanessa, plus numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Visitation will be held at Castillo Mission funeral home on Monday April 9, 2018 from 3pm to 9pm, with a Rosary at 7pm. A procession will depart on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 9:15am for a 10am Funeral Mass at San Fernando Cathedral.

You helped me get through Nursing School. You always left me the best and most encouraging messages in purple folders. Loved hanging out with you on South Street and the Quad. We lost touch but you never were out of my heart. Love you always. Condolences to those who also loved and will miss you.

My cousin Marcelo Garcia and I send our condolences. Losing someone is never easy especially at such a young age. Although it is impossible to see beyond your pain, may we look back to good memories to comfort and help us today. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. While we remain saddened by your loss, let us celebrate the life of Mando.
