Ernest Castoreno Obituary
Ernest P. Castoreno, age 65, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009 in Houston, Texas. He was born on September 1, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to Tiburcio & Matiana (Polanco) Castoreno. Survivors include his children, Ernest P. Castoreno Jr. & wife, Norma, Richard Castoreno, Christine M. Gonzales & husband, Robert and Gene Castoreno; brother, Eugene Castoreno & wife, Olivia; sisters, Ofelia Ortega & husband, Jesse, Hortencia Reddicks & husband, Michael, Olga Martinez & husband, Guadalupe, Lucy Castoreno, Connie Guzman & husband, Danny, Hope Castoreno and Adelina Castoreno; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place from 5:30-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 and 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a departure from Sunset Northwest Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. for a 11:00 a.m. mass Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Christian A. Janson celebrant. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #1. Please visit www.sunsetnwchapel.com for an on-line memorial and tribute.

Dad,
I never wanted this day to come. My heart is broken and saden. But the Lord was waiting for you dad to go home and heaven has recieved one of it's best angels who loves to sing and dance and is is just a ray of sunshine. I'm at peace knowing you are in a better place and free to roam as you wish. Dad you would be very happy to know that your ceremony was so beautiful. It was everything you wanted. You are free now so enjoy yourself and we will be together again I promise you that.I Love you very much and miss you greatly dad!! Love your little trailor, Christina

Tio Ernest was a good uncle to me. He would tell me and my sister how beautiful and wonderfully made we were growing up with tears in his eyes. Back then I never understood the sincerity of his voice and why he would cry so much as he said those kind words to me and/or my sister. Today, I kind of understand, but I may never know the real reason behind those tears. I can sit here and speculate all I want, but what I do know is that those words came straight from the heart and it was beautiful. Love, Lina

Dad, I'm going to miss you so much. You meant the world me and I'm sorry dad I wasn't with you but I was on my way. Dad I love you. ok joke time, the last one I'm going to tell you dad,A drunk phoned police to report that thieves had been in his car. "They've stolen the dashboard, the steering wheel, the brake pedal, even the accelerator!" he cried out. However, before the police investigation could start, the phone rang a second time with the same voice came over the line. "Never mind," he said with a hiccup, "I got in the back seat by mistake." Your loving son Ernie.
