Richard Vandermark Obituary
Vandermark
Retired MSGT USAF, Retired Civil Service entered eternal peace on April 3, 2010. Born in Sycamore, Kansas, 07-26-1935. Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Viola "Neil" Jeanell Vandermark, 2 infant sons, and son Richard E, Jr.; parents, Thomas E. Vandermark and Etta B. Graham; sisters, Barbara Kuschell and Dolores Viglicky; Survivors sons, Francis "Frank" J. Jesse (Linda) and Matthew L.Vandermark; Grandsons, Jay, Kenneth, Richard, & Anthony Jesse; 5 great-grand children, Brother-in-law Ronald Kuschell, Elwood, Kansas; 3 nephews and numerous dear friends. Van served in the Air Force Police, Training Instructor; tours in Japan, Korea, Germany, Thailand, Lackland AFB and other areas. Van was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the American Legion. SERVICES:
Memorial services at Valley Hi First Baptist Church, 04-13-2010 10:30 am at 6623 SW Loop 410 San Antonio, TX 78227. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Valley Hi First Baptist Church. Immediately following the Memorial service a gathering of family and friends will be held at the F.O.E. #70 2220 Hunt Lane, San Antonio, and TX 78227. A special thanks to Doctor Thayil and the staff at LifeCare Hospital. Family and friends may leave condolences at mysa.com under obituaries.

Van, you will be missed by many, many people. You were always helping everyone and giving of yourself without even thinking about it. In 1976 you started saving my butt everytime my car broke down, through my single years, into my married years and even after the kids came along. Didn't get to know you till I was 22, but now at 55, I'm so glad you were in my life. Love you,
