Today would've been your birthday pops. The world is a mess right now with this covid 19 virus outbreak, you're probably better off up there anyhow. I miss you and think about you every day dad, I'm always trying to be the man you raised me to be. I always tell the wife about you and how her father and you would get along so well. I'm staying strong for mom and whitney, I love you dad and I cant wait to see you again. Oh the stories we will tell. Until then pops.

Remembering Matt with a beer and shots of Jagermeister, and looking at pictures of our visit to Seattle. Tamara and I had a great time with Matt, Tina, and the kids. Matt's smiling face was just incredible. We miss and love you brother.

It's been difficult for the last 3 months to not think about Matt after finding out that he passed away. Tamara and I were very shocked and saddened to hear that Matt passed away more than a year ago. I have thought about our time with Matt, Tina, and their kids more in the last 3 months than in last 10 years. From working together, to barbeques & parties, to going to concerts, to singing karaoke at the Old Father Inn, being with Matt was always the greatest time. Matt was more than a best friend to me, he was my brother. Tamara and I are truly sorry for not keeping in touch with them over the years. The only birthday present I can give Matt today is to try and fix that mistake. To Tina, Brandi, and Tyler, my cellphone # is 520-982-6522. Tamara and I will always be here for you. To my friend Matt, Happy Birthday brother. I will always miss you. I will never forget you. And I hope we meet again.

We are so sorry to hear of this tragedy. Matt was such a fun guy, his smile and laughter were contagious. He brought happiness to many, our family included. We will miss him and pray for him and for his entire family. Tina, Brandy & Tyler it is with all our hearts that we want to be here for you. We had only just heard this news today, both of us shocked and sad to hear it. Please know Tina that if You or the Kids ever need anything, we are here for you. We had so many good times together, your family & ours.

Mathew Hiney “Matt” I miss him so much! I wish there was something I could give back to Matt…He reached out for me before he passed and I was on an airplane coming back from Las Vegas. When I was able to text back it was too late. I was not sure why he never responded until later. I miss him. I miss him allot! I heard that Matt reached out to allot of us. This is hard to write… You see Matt called me TVL. Anyone close to Matt will now know who I ‘am, but that not important. What's important is what Matt did for many of us who knew him. Matt always had a big since of humor that made all of us laugh! I would like to share with you all something very special that Matt taught me when we were working in Oklahoma 2001. It was one very special word. Matt told me the story about giving someone a “kabau”, And how this had be done in another country whose culture was very different from ours. The word kabau or kaesu ..to protect, look after ... to give back, return. In very political work place we gave back to each other. You see we didn't work in the same department, but whenever we could recognize the other for their attributes we would kabau them! To Mathew a very special Farwell Kabau and God speed! I will never forget you Matt!

I will always be your friend TVL
