Max Reed Obituary

REED
Max Edward Reed, age 86, passed away on March 8, 2012 after a three year battle with kidney disease. He was born in Long Beach, Calif. on 12/11/1925. While in High School he enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1946. Max was a loyal employee of Tesoro Petroleum Corp for 42 years, serving in California, Montana, Texas and Indonesia. Max was preceded in death by his parents John Edward Reed & Dallas Greathouse Reed, and by Beverly Flaming Reed the mother of his three daughters. Max was a longtime resident of Fair Oaks Ranch and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Boerne. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, and a member of the National Benchrest Shooters Association. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marlene Largent Reed; his three daughters who are all residents of California, Paula Reed, Gloria Reed, and Krestine Reed; three stepchildren Kenneth Duvall and wife Janice, David Duvall and wife Bethany, and Pamela Duvall Herman and husband Ben. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Reed McNay of Arroyo Grande,Ca., and fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Special thanks to the Davita Kidney Dialysis Center in Boerne, Hospice Inspiris of San Antonio, and Rev. Suzy Royston, Chaplain. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to AMVETS National Service Foundation P.O. Box 96175 Washington, D.C. 20090-6175. Graveside services will be held at Ft. Sam Houston on Friday 3/ 23 /12 at 1:30 p.m.. Arrrangements Entrusted with Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. You may sign the online guestbook at www.missionparks.com under the obituary section.
