Douglas Patton Pritchard
Douglas Patton Pritchard (65), beloved husband of Rosalind, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and loyal friend to many went to his sure and eternal reward on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in Port Aransas, Texas. A lifelong Texan, Doug was born to Jack W. and Nellie M. (Hawkes) Pritchard on November 15, 1946 at Wilford Hall Hospital, Lackland AFB. As the second son with two brothers and one sister, Douglas began and ended his life as a kind and loving person, always considerate of his family and those around him.
Douglas accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at Highland Terrace United Methodist Church as a youth,
and never strayed from his faith. After a career as a Yardman for Southern Pacific Railroad he retired to Kerrville with his soul-mate and wife Rosalind. Twenty nine years of wedded bliss followed them to Boerne and on to Port Aransas. While enjoying yard-work with his beloved Rosalind, Douglas succumbed to a sudden heart attack. Douglas had recently told a family friend that he hoped to go like that. God is merciful! Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Nellie Pritchard and older brother Jack W. Pritchard, Jr. all of San Antonio. He is survived by his loving wife and soul-mate, Rosalind (Sherman) Pritchard of Port Aransas, son John and Julie Pritchard of South Carolina, children Alex, Austen, and Samantha. Son Tim Pritchard of Granbury, children Beau, Paige, and Caleb. Daughter Stephanie and husband Claude Culak of Boerne, children Ashlee and Tyler. Brother Kenneth Pritchard and wife Brenda of Thorndale, sister Beverly Scott of Florida, parents in-law Raymond and Rena Sherman, brother-in-law Randy Sherman, sister-in-law Ruth Raborn. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday July 2 at Ebensberger Funeral Home in Boerne. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3 at First United Methodist Church, 205 James St. Boerne TX. Burial will take place immediately following in Boerne Cemetery.
