Bertha Esquivel Obituary
Bertha E. Esquivel born in San Antonio, TX on April 7, 1951, went to be with the Lord on September 7, 2014 at the age of 63 after she lost her battle to cancer. She was retired from Edgewood ISD. She is preceded in death by her father, Cresencio Esquivel. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Esquivel; mother, Tomasita G. Esquivel; daughters, Gina Arispe (Roy) and Cynthia Garcia (Perry); sisters, Gloria E. Garcia (Eusebio), Rosa E. Valle (Carlos), Irma G. Esquivel (Lee), Lucy Ortiz (Alfredo); two grandsons, Daniel Farias and Tristan Garcia; numerous nieces and nephews. She was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and wife and we will miss her very much. Her joy was her two grandsons, daughters, and going to the casinos with family and friends. Family would like to thank the doctors/nurses at UHSC. A visitation will begin on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Jude Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No. 3.

Dearest Gina, Cynthia and your mother's entire family, I send my sincere condolences to each of you. Your mother looked absolutely beautiful this evening at the service. She is a beautiful woman and now has left us all here on earth to go be with our Father, and the many angels above. She, now is an angel herself, that will always be watching over you. Remember when you see a butterfly or the blinking stars above, that it is really her looking over you. Your mother is now resting, with a healthy body and is dancing at the most grand party ever. She is celebrating with all her loved ones that have gone before her. You will meet again so it really is not goodbye, but rather she is getting things ready for when our Lord calls upon you. Doesn't mean it will be soon but it will happen. Gina.. I send lots of strong hugs to you. You are an amazing woman, wife, sister, friend. May God grant you peace, so that you can get through these most difficult days that are ahead. I promise you that I will ALWAYS be here for you to help you in ANY way I can. Whether it is to talk... to run errands... to help financially the best I can.. I will always be there. I know people say call me if you need anything and it is not like us to call for help. I will be checking on you often to see how you and Roy are doing and offering assistance if you need help. Don't lose you faith.. God is watching and he is answering our prayers the best he can. Love you to the moon and back.
