I´m years late, sadly. My heart is broken, and I wish I would´ve seeked you out sooner. For years after high school until now, I always wanted to visit you. You literally changed my life and I can still see you fresh in my mind like it was yesterday. I´ll never forget how much you believed in me and made me feel like I can do anything. I always told my kids stories about you and how much I missed you. Little did I know....

Now my kids go to south San and I wish you could´ve met them.

I miss you, and I never got to say thank you...thank you for being there and believing in me when no one else did. You´ll forever be in my heart.

Love you Mr. Rodriguez.

Sandra and Hank, though we have never met, I wanted to let you know that we share in your sorrow and pain at the loss of such a loving, caring, and compassionate man. His life will continue to live through all those individuals, especially his students, that will pass on his gentle and loving nature to others in need. God Bless you!!!

I am so fortunate to have known you and laugh with you and trust you. You are one of those rare people that God plants as a "force of nature." So much so, that your bright light will continue to shine from your high place in Heaven as you continue to guide us with laughter and grace. You will be missed my friend and you will be remembered by all of us you left behind.

Mr. Rodriguez was one of the few teachers that sincerely cared about his students and their future. He made a difference in many of our lives and we are very thankful for having such an inspirational role model. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers, especially anytime I hear The Steve Miller band's - The Joker... Rest In Peace.

Max you will always be a shining light to your principal friends, sorority brothers, Marine buddies, Mac HS, St Mary alumni friends and the list never ends. You were such a BRILLIANT, fun loving human being. I will always cherish the decade plus great times we shared. We laughed enough to last a lifetime! You were there for me during my darkest career days and as long as I live I will never ever forget the advice you gave me. You loved your job and school and it became truly evident when you gave them a mascot! I remember how proud you were of your HONEY BADGERS! Even though we teased you about it, you knew we were proud!! I will cherish our last conversation only days before you left us. May all the love that we have for you make its way to the ones you adored most: Sandra and lil Hank. RIP dear friend.

Despite our heavy hearts, let us celebrate the life of Max Rodriguez. My children will tell tales of his existentialism and power clean feats; of his Iroc and Desert Eagle, of his squat records, compassion, and courage. Hank, your father was a damn good man. So too shall you be (hopefully you'll learn more Spanish than he did).

One of the greatest men I ever came in contact with in high school. Only one who truly cared for his students and stayed by their side until we were successfull. Always saw the best in everyone, never turned his cheek. I was honored to have a special friend relationship with you and be able to keep in contact with you even after I graduated. I hope one day I'll be as awesome of a educator as you were. Rest in peace Mr. Max and May God Bless your family. Love you sir and you will not be forgotten. #rip

Max: Too young, too soon. I can't believe you are gone. We met through work and our Fantasy Football League. You were a great guy to be around, and could talk trash with the best of them. (All in good fun of course) You will be missed my friend. Sandra: I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only hope that these words can somehow ease your sorrow. My prayers are for you and your son. I pray that God and family lead you through these difficult times. Heaven has gained a great soul.

Max was an amazing man. I met him through my 'initiation' period into Sigma Beta Chi. During that time we had a brilliant discussion that has stuck with me my entire life. I came from a dynamic past - and he helped talk me through a difficult fear of mine; which was 'to be in life alone'. He reached out to me and helped me conquer this fear through a conversation that has come across my mind time and time again over the past 15 years. I can only imagine what this man means to someone others. Max, you will be missed. Thank you for your time, strength, and great advice.
