Carrie Darren Jaxon Calvert
July 8, 2015
For the past 15 years, the Kaylor/ Menger/Gilreath families have been the Calvert's family! For many years, Tom was so patient after a long workday where he just wanted to come home to relax with his puppies or enjoy Kathy all to himself (once Sara & Nick were grown) but instead would find his rambunctious "surrogate grandson", Jaxon, sleeping in his bed, going after Rosie attempting to ride her or pull her tail or getting in front of his TV while watching a Spurs game. Tom would just smile & laugh! He was preparing for the true "twinkle in his eyes", Hannah & Marshall! Not only was Tom a "cool cat" when it came to his choice in music & professional sports teams, but he was a fabulous grandfather! He was patient, fun & very loving! Along with Kathy, Tom raised successful, loving children, Nick & Sara, both whom are very loyal in all of their relationships with friends & family (a true testament of the type of parenting they had). Erich, Lois & Tom have been Blessings, not only to their parents, but also to each other as close, loving & loyal siblings even as adults. Tom's friendship with his buddy Bob has been a testament to the type of person he was. LOYAL. Loyalty & dedication as a son, father, brother, grandfather, friend, but most of all husband! For the past 15 years that I have known Tom, not only has he nursed Kathy back to health following surgeries, been the shoulder she needed when both sets of parents became sick & were taken sooner than planned, didn't mind sharing his beautiful bride with her friends especially when Melanie moved back in town (because her heart was full again), held her when Rosie left us, laughed when Charlie "found" them & smiled when she brought Emily home...Tom took it all in stride because he adored his Kathy, the love of his life that he fell in love with way back in the TCU years having music in common. Kathy has been dedicated to Tom just as he has to her. Darren & I have been honored to witness 15 years of this 40+ years love story. Tom (along with Kathy) have set a precedence-how a man & woman should treat & love each other, how to raise honorable children & healthy, happy grandchildren, maintain loving sibling relationships, how to be a dependable child & hardworking dedicated employee, loyal friend & fun-loving canine dad. The common theme of these two as a couple & Tom as a person has always been LOVING & LOYAL, a dedicated husband, son, parent, grandparent, brother & a true friend who will be missed by so many! Kathy-God could not have given you a more perfect partner; & the same for Tomyou both have been Blessed. Through your relationship you've taught so many how to love. Thank you for showing us the way! We love you dearly AGKathy. Carrie, Darren & Jaxon

I will not be alone in missing Tom's humor. He was an old soul, but forever young.
