Sean Harrison Obituary

July 8, 1986 - August 30, 2016
"Live as if you were to die tomorrow and
learn as you were to live forever" - Ghandi

Our loving Sean went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2016 at the age of 30. Sean had a love for life and lived his life to the fullest; he never took any day for granted. He strived to challenge himself to experience the world and loved travel and snowboarding. He was an inspiration to many. Sean (AKA Santiago Ortega/Drizzle) graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Chemistry. Sean loved the sport of soccer and anybody who knew him knows he always gave 110 percent when he played. He started at the age of two and his first team, the Turtles, won every game they played their first season. He never lost that competitive spirit and played soccer his entire life. Family and friends were a priority to Sean; he also took time to make everyone feel special. His beautiful blue eyes, loving smile and laughter will always shine in our memory. Sean is survived by his mother Mary Theresa Armijo, his Father James Douglas Harrison, his Brothers Douglas Harrison, Frankie Armijo, Ian Harrison, his Sisters Heather Jewett, Brittany Harrison, and Emma Harrison, Grandparent Esperanza Ortega and Step Parents Stacey Harrison and Frank Armijo. He will also be dearly missed by his girlfriend Sara Curry and numerous other family members and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. For online tributes please visit www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.

Sean has continually been one of few folks whose impressions on me were only of the fond variety. Whose humor was privileged to be graced with; a light to many. My deepest condolences to his family, and the multitude of friends that remain.

IN MEMORY OF A GOOD FRIEND:

Like drops of dew or gentle rain,

Which the greatest efforts could hardly contain.

Such the laughter heard by many fond fellow,

For the sake of company so humorous and mellow.

Barrels of joy to those privileged to be near,

Our dear Brother whom we remember here.

Sean spent time at our home throughout the years. He added a positive, interesting dynamic to the group. We liked his easy laid back nature, he was funny, loved to laugh & had more depth than the average which made conversations with him more interesting. Sean had a large diverse group of friends there's no doubt he left this world knowing he was loved by so many. Cherish the memories

Our bodies turn to dust but our souls last forever-
That was Sean's last post on Instagram. Sean is my cousin, I live in California and Sean had always talked about coming out to visit me, he would have love it here! At one point I even tried to convince him to live out here with me. He is the only cousin that is closest to me in age, I believe I was the only family member closest to him in age and because of that we should have made time to see each other. As I'm looking through his Social Media pages, Sean is an amazing friend, boyfriend, brother, and son. I have cried everyday, it's so hard to believe he's gone because we have talked about getting together so many times, I imagine him at my wedding and hanging out with me in California. I myself don't have a big family so when I talk to Sean it was so comforting. Because we were so close in age we like the same things. We like the same kind of music, traveling, film, festivals and of course partying and having a great time with people we love. I'm so sad he is gone but I know I can't live life crying and feeling depress, I know I have to live a good life for Sean he would want that for all of us. Last time I talk to him we talked about our future goals and making films and one day maybe collaborating together well I hope with your spirit around me I can make some of those things we talked about come true.
I love you Sean!!! Your Forever with me!
Your Cousin form San Diego ☺

Our dear Sean, you could light up the room with your smile. We always felt your smile from across the room. You were always a bundle of energy with a great, beautiful heart, very dependable, very loving to all the family, very caring, and had this presence in you that everyone felt. I love you, dear Sean. I have asked my Mom, your Tia Helen, to embrace you with her big beautiful wings in heaven. I am so glad that we got to see you at your Mama's house not too long ago. You loved playing with all the kids, and always have been a kid at heart. We will all miss your genuine, fun personality. You were full of life on earth, you were your Mama's, Theresa's, sunshine. Now, you will spread the sunshine from heaven over all of us. Rest peacefully, beloved cousin. We love you and will miss you dearly!

Didn't know you very well, as I just moved to San Antonio last year. But in the short moments we've spent playing against each other at Northwoods, you sure left a big impression on me. Humble, funny, always ready to laugh, but at the same time very competitive. Was waiting for you to come back from your injury when the terrible news hit me. I was saddened to hear about your passing Sean. You were a terrific guy, with a big smile that affected everybody around you and you'll be missed! Rest in peace and my deepest condolences to your family and friends.

I am so happy to have the pleasure of knowing Sean. We met while we were in high school and ended up going to college together. I know him for his beautiful smile, piercing eyes, his laugh and for being one of the funniest people I know. I'm grateful to have stayed close with him through the years, he is everywhere now. Much love to his family he always spoke so highly of and all of his dear friends he loved so much.

I haven't seen Sean in over two years but there is something about having worked with someone that makes you like family. He was always happy and I admired his desire to live and enjoy every moment. He had such an adventurous spirit. Sean also had such a big, caring, genuine heart for his friends and family. He will be missed.

I've known Sean since he was a little guy in Bulverde. He was like another brother to my son, Luke. One of the sweetest guys I've ever known. My heart breaks for his family and all the friends that loved him so much. "The nicest place to be is in someone's thoughts. The safest place to be is in someone's prayers. My deepest sympathy to the Harrison family. I did not know Sean personally, but met him a couple of times when he brought his grandmother to the doctor. He was such a sweet and kind person and very tender with his grandmother. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

We shared so many memorable times in one another's company. Whether it was on the pitch, on the river or out and about, we always had a blast. You knew how to turn any ordinary day into one erupting with laughter and memories that are forever etched into so many of our lives. I could not have asked for a more free spirited friend than you. You're smile has touched so many and will live on forever in the many lives you touched. Much love Drizzle! This one is for you ...

Sean was the best kind of friend. The kind that you can go months without seeing and when you do it's like no time has past. The kind that is positive and a pro at lightening the mood. The kind that is always there for you and always able to make you smile. The kind that gets you a job when your trying to earn a ticket the Europe. The kind that is an usher at your wedding and drives your friends safely home afterward. The kind of friend who offer the take your French husband to a spurs game so he can see Boris and Tony in real time. The kind of friend that drives 80 miles do come see you while dad is in the hospital. The kind that offers to come to your baby shower even though it's girls only, Dependable, funny, caring, cool ... I could go on and on but what he really is is the worst kind of friend to loose. I love you buddy and will miss you always

You deserve to have your story written and shared with all. We first met when you were a freshman and I dubbed you"Little Doug," we shared the pitch and I watched you grow as a person and a player. As we grew up, we shared many laughs and such great stories of our adventures in life. We parted ways for a bit due to college life, but were reunited once again on the pitch. We won a few trophies with our men's league team in tournaments and our men's league with so many other great friends. We often argued and yelled at each other and people thought that we were angry, but we know it was just solid communication. We are so sad that you have left us, but we all hold onto the great memories you have given each of us. Your stories will be shared and your memory will live on in each life you touched. Rest In Peace Brother.
