Mr. McIntire was my high school history teacher, along with Mr. Williams. I was part of their innovative co-teaching class. Our 2 text books were novels: 1984 and Darkness at Noon. There was a movable wall between Mr. Williams' class and Mr. McIntire's. Sometimes the classrooms were combined; sometimes separate. We learned 'outside the box' in small group seminars discussing topics of interest, listening to interesting lectures given by these gifted teachers, or researching and writing papers to present to the combined classes. I will never forget Mr. McIntire. He was so open, honest, forthright, good-humored and relaxed. I'm 75 now and he still stands out as the most inspiring teacher I ever had. When he heard that I wasn't going to college after high school graduation, he called me into his office to encourage me to change my mind. Although it turned out I wasn't meant for college, I'll always remember his kindness in thinking of me and wanting the best for his students. He is the star of stars in my book. I wish I'd thought to look him up online and tell him this while he was on the planet. Best wishes to his family always.

Charlie was a man who was devoted to his family and who was also a dedicated teacher. He blessed and inspired those who new him. He and I were on different pages, politically, atone time but that never affected our relationship. I hope he knows now that I am on his side

Geo. and I met Charlie through mutual friends soon after we moved here in 1960. He had a great sense of fun and lightness, but could do the heavy lifting of job and community service as well as anyone I know. His decades of accomplishments and community giving will not soon be forgotten.

charlie will always be remembered as the devoted husband of one of my dearest friends. I met him when he began dating Connie. They fell in love, married and raised a wonderful family. Charlie was always a loving, caring husband and father and a beloved teacher. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known him. We regret that we will be unable to attend his memorial service but our thoughts will certainly be with his dear family on that day.
Our love and sympathy,

Mr. McIntire encouraged everyone - I'm sure there are many people who either did better than they were doing, or simply stayed in school. He taught us all a lot. He will be missed.

I am very proud to call him my father in law. Wonderful man, husband, father and grandfather to our daughter Courtney.Funny how he was my 9th grade teacher for World Civ.the only year he actually taught it. I guess he didn't like us ninth graders. But a year later I met his wonderful son Smoker (Chris) and have been in his life ever since.Charlie, you will be forever in my heart! Love Caprice
