Nadine E. Rounds

1924 - 2017

Nadine Nadon Rounds September 11, 1924 - April 2, 2017 Oceanside - Nadine E. Rounds. Born in San Diego, California, Nadine moved to Oceanside in 1928 where she spent the next 88 years. She graduated from Oceanside High School in 1942. After graduation, Nadine worked a number of years at the Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton, CA, before working at the Pacific Bell phone company in Oceanside, CA. Nadine married Forrest Rounds in 1947 and after leaving the phone company, they spent their years together deer and duck hunting, fishing, camping, and dancing to the tunes of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Benny Goodman. They both shared a love for the game of golf, where Nadine even won a couple of Ladies Golf Championships. Blessed with a long life of 92 years, Nadine enjoyed the companionship of old girl friends when they would meet at each others' homes or local restaurants three or four times a year for lunch; they were known as "the Lunch Bunch." A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, CA, on Monday, the 5th of June, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. At the conclusion of the service, you're invited to proceed to the San Luis Rey Mission Cemetery where her ashes will be placed in the wall with her beloved husband Forrest.
