GWENDOLYN MURDOCK MOJADO

MOJADO, GWENDOLYN MURDOCK December 25, 1926 to March 22, 2012 Gwendolyn passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2012. She was born on December 25, 1926 in Ft. Duchesne, Utah where she spent the early years of her life. She attended Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, California where she met Gilbert L. Mojado, who became her husband and loving companion for the past 65 years. They made their home in Pala, California where they raised five children. After raising their children, Gwen continued her education and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University in 1972 and her Master's Degree from the University of Utah in 1974. Gwendolyn was creative as evidenced by her prize winning poetry, proficiency in writing words and music to her own beautiful songs. She has a natural talant for singing and playing the piano and guitar. Gwen enjoyed a variety of music and loved to dance. In addition to her love and devotion for her family, she enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing. Family and friends all agree that she was honest, loyal, and had a great sense of humor. She was preceded in death by parents Lula Harris and Glen Mc Murdock, siblings Glen Mc Murdock Jr., Colin Murdock, Gary Murdock, Mary Ward and Brenda Mojado. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gilbert L. Mojado, Pala, Ca; children Denny Mojado (Nonie), Riverside, Ca; Lu Ann Mojado-Arviso (Chief), Rincon, Ca, Alan Mojado, Pala, CA; Rick Mojado, Pala, CA; Colin Mojado (Beverly), Ft. Duchesne, UT; siblings, Benny Murdock (Lola), King George, VA; Shirley Murdock Reed, Ft. Duchesne, UT; Ronald Murdock, Salt Lake City, UT; Stuart Murdock (Rose), Redmond, OR; Karnel Murdock (Jennie), Ft. Duchesne, UT; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and special relatives and friends too numerous to count. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 30th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Mission San Antonio De Pala, Pala, CA. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 31st, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mission San Antonio De Pala. Burial will follow at Pala Indian Cemetery. Berry-Bell and Hall Mortuary will be handling arrangements.
