Carolyn Willison Obituary

Carolyn "Carrie" Willison, 91, of San Luis Obispo, passed away peacefully Friday, June 3, 2011, in Morro Bay. Carrie was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., and moved to California with her husband, Charles, in 1943. She loved books, nature and many creative arts, including Chinese brush painting, fiber arts and ceramics. Her sense of humor, warmth and unperturbed personality made everyone smile and love to be with her. She lived her life as she raised her family, with grace and forgiveness and love for all. She will be deeply missed by her son, Steve (Nancy); daughter, Cris (Tim); granddaughters Jenny (Chris) and Rosie; great-grandchildren Jesse and Ginger; and all of her wonderful friends met along her beautiful journey through life. Her husband, Chuck, preceded her death in 1975. A celebration of Carrie''s life will be held at a later date. This poem by William Blake was a favorite of hers and epitomizes how she lived her life... To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour.

Carrie was my neighbor for several years on Vista Del Lago. She saw me through some difficult times ... always there, generous with her support. She was a gentle, kind hearted friend. I send my sincerest sympathy to her family.
