Douglas Gould Obituary

Douglas W. Gould, 66, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at home with his wife, Cheryl, at his side. Doug was born to Frank and Loretta Gould in June 1944 in Long Beach, Calif. He met his wife-to-be, Cheryl, at Long Beach City College - they were married Feb. 28, 1965. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years as logistic coordinator for the Long Beach division, and retired in 1992. A talented musician, he formed Doug Gould and his Music, a band that specialized in private parties and wedding receptions for 15 years. Doug and Cheryl fell in love with the Central Coast and build their Baywood home in 1988. Because of Doug''s lifelong love of water and boating, they soon joined the Morro Bay Yacht Club. The yacht club quickly became their second home and family. Doug was especially proud to have served as Commodore in 2004. He always had a smile on his face and loved to make others laugh. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cheryl; cousins Kenneth and Marylyn Walker of Royal Oaks, Calif.; and many friends at the Morro Bay Yacht Club. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the Morro Bay Yacht Club, 541 Embarcadero in Morro Bay. Los Osos Valley Mortuary 528-1500 Los Osos
