Lucille Townsend Obituary

Lucille Viola DeChambeau was born in Negaunee, Mich., to Alcid and Viola DeChambeau in February 1932, and died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010. She grew up in Marinette, Wis., and graduated from Marinette High School. She attended Wisconsin State College in Oshkosh, Wis., and earned her A.A. degree from Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo and B.A. degree in History from Cal Poly. On June 7, 1953, she married Neal R. Townsend of Oshkosh at St.Paul''s Episcopal Church in Marinette. During their marriage, the couple lived in Tomahawk and Stevens Point, Wis., and San Bernardino, Rialto, Lemon Grove, San Luis Obispo and Atascadero, Calif. While in Atascadero, Lucille operated her own Hacienda Day Care for children for several years. Lucille is survived by her husband, Neal; daughter, Sharre Chamberlin (Tom) of Rockford, Mich.; sons Larry Townsend (Donna) of Coarsegold, Calif., and Terry Townsend of Pleasanton, Calif.; grandchildren Kristen Urquidez (Johnny), Erika Townsend, Kirk Townsend, Kristianne Townsend, Adam Chamberlin and Nicholas Chamberlin; and one great-grandson, Drew Urquidez. A private family gathering to celebrate Lucille''s life has been planned. Cremation is to be conducted by Graham-Hitch Mortuary in Pleasanton.
