Ralph Sabatino Obituary

Ralph A. Sabatino , 97, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Wyndham Residence in Arroyo Grande. Ralph was born in Roseto, Pa., in 1912, one of ten children born to Anthony and Grace Sabatino. He served as a firefighter for thirty-two years at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and the El Toro Naval Air Station in Southern California. He and his wife moved to California in 1967 and lived in Downey, Tustin and Pismo Beach. In 2001 he moved to an apartment at Wyndham Residence and enjoyed the wonderful care of its staff. He learned water colors at the age of 90 and became quite prolific at it. Ralph is survived by daughter Grace Fabula, (Stephen) of Pismo Beach; grandson, Ralph Fabula, (Maria); and great-grandsons Christian, Benjamin, and Noah of Castle Rock, Colo.; granddaughter, Andrea Gamblin (Trent) of Ft. Stewart, Ga.; and great-grandson, Andrew; sisters, Ellen, Nettie, Evelyn (Camie) and Mildred; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carmela; son Ralph Michael; sister Mary; and brothers, Matt, Tony, Louis and Domenic. Viewing will be from 3-6pm, Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, 1239 Longbranch Ave. in Grover Beach. Chapel service and burial 9am Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Forest Lawn Covina Hills, Calif. Ralph was a special man who touched my heart. I looked so forward to seeing him during our appointments. He was so proud of his puzzles, his art, his family. I will never forget Ralph and miss him dearly.
