Sara Elizabeth Sainsbury

January 1981 ~ December 2010 Sara Sainsbury, 29, left this world to go back to live with the angels Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010. She had bravely battled health issues for much of her adult life. Sara was born in Maryland and spent most of her youth in San Luis Obispo County, most recently in Grover Beach. She was the oldest of seven children, including her deceased brother, Ryan, who she always kept close to her heart and had his name tattooed on her ankle. She was gifted musically and played he keyboard and drums. She composed deeply moving lyrics and music to accompany them. She also loved babies and animals - they responded to her gentle and compassionate heart. She enjoyed her former work with animals at Dawna''s Pet Parlor in Grover Beach. Sara adored her Grandma, Helen Stenger and in 2005, she moved to San Diego for a year to care for Helen during the last year of her life. Sara was a free spirit and independent thinker and marched to the beat of her own drum. We could always predict her to be unpredictable and she brought much joy and left us with many memories, especially holiday dinners. She will be deeply missed and always remembered for her sensitive and kind nature. Sara is survived by her mother, Mary Kay Stenger and stepfather, Mike Glynn; father, Steven Sainsbury and his wife, Lynnly; sister, Kristina Sainsbury; brothers Jon, Matthew, James and Steven; sister-in-law, Heather; nephew, Jacob Evans; step-sisters Morgan and Christine; grandparents Jeannine and Ralph Davis; and many Stenger and Sainsbury aunt, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at the Old Mission Church in San Luis Obispo.
