Claire Brescia

Claire Brescia Oct. 1928 Aug. 31, 2016 Theresa Claire (Gunderman) Brescia, beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a gentle soul with an amazing history in the world of dance. Claire was born to Clara and Edward Gunderman in 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a natural at dance and grew from a youngster who entertained her neighborhood by dancing on a drum on the sidewalk, to a full-fledged Rockette. Claire danced with many different dance troupes throughout her successful career. She was a June Taylor Dancer and a member of the Tom Hansen Dancers. She was recorded in the Red Skelton Show and the Jackie Gleason Show, among others. Claire also enjoyed traveling the world to share her gift of dance. Above all, Claire was a woman of incredible strength and determination. She was a devoted wife and mother who found joy in her family. She married Anthony Brescia Sr. in 1966 and raised her family in Westlake Village, retiring to the Central Coast in the late 80's. One of her greatest gifts was being able to meet and hold her great-granddaughter Mia this past August. Anthony Sr. passed away in 2014, and she missed him greatly. Claire is survived by her two children and their families, Kathryn Brescia Kitzes (Phillip Kitzes) and Anthony Joseph Jr. (Chelsea Aronson Brescia) and her grandchildren: Victor Kitzes, Katie Riecken Kitzes, Trevor Kitzes, and Gia Brescia and her great-granddaughter Mia Kitzes.
