Carlton Wolf Obituary

Carl was born on October 22, 1973 in Corona, CA and went home to be with Jesus on August 10, 2010 at 7 AM as he pulled his truck up for work. His is survived by his wife and best friend Ali Blakeney Wolf, his parents, Joe and Bonnie, his brother Sep and wife Brynn, nieces Kasia and Kana, nephew, Kelham, his aunts Eve, and Jenny and their families and his grandparents, Carl and Dossie Perkins.

Carl graduated from Aptos High School, played varsity football, being nominated into the High School Football Hall of Fame. He played football and rugby at St. Mary's College in Moraga, graduating with a B.A. in Art.

After meeting Ali in Burbank, their friendship grew and they finally married on December 22, 2006 in Hoxie, Arkansas. They honeymooned at the Heartbreak Hotel in Memphis, and joined Joe and Bonnie at Graceland the following Christmas Eve. They traveled Europe on an extended honeymoon, visiting old friends and making new ones! After living in Los Angeles, they moved back to Arkansas in Feb. of 2009. Carl began learning and working on the family farm and substitute teaching, which he loved. Carl was an exceptional artist and an even better chef. He had a passion for art, all types of music, literature, and cooking for his friends. After being in AR, he added fishing and hunting to that list!

He recently taught at Hoxie High School where the students loved him and where his motto; "Hug It Out" changed their lives. We celebrate the big laughs, the bear hugs, beautiful smile and his ability to walk into a room and brighten everyone's day. Anyone who met Carl came away knowing they had a friend.

He had a deep faith in Jesus, wearing his second of many tattoos, Galatians 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loves me and gave Himself for me."

Immediate services were held in Hoxie, AR. We in CA will gather to celebrate his life on Friday evening, August 27 from 5"" 9 PM at the Aptos Village Park, Aptos, CA. www.scparks.com/aptosvillagepark. Friends are invited to bring blankets, chairs, stories, pictures, etc. as we gather together to share about how he loved us all. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Hicks/Blakeney/Wolf Scholarship Fund, Hoxie School District, P.O. Box 240, Hoxie, AR 72433, attn.: Debbie Sullivan.

Can´t believe it´s been since 2010 that we lost a great man and friend. Carl your impact on my life is still felt every day when I see Galatians 2:20 tattooed on my right arm. I share your story so often - a guy who was the link in a chain, who pointed me to Jesus (baptized 11/4/07) and probably never even knew it. Today, my grandchildren are growing up with a strong faith in Christ and it´s the greatest joy. Thank you Carl, I look forward to a day when we will spend eternity sharing our stories, and I can tell you how much you impacted our lives.

Growing up with Carl and Sep in Seascape was incredible. Sleepovers at the Wolf´s, swimming at Seascape Sports Club. Carl had the kindest spirit. I look forward to our reunion in heaven.

Wolf, words cant express the loss I feel for your family. I recall being a kid coming to St. Mary's from Compton, Ca. and this huge guy living down the hall from me. Him blarring metal me blasting rap. Jime 6'4+ me 5'9+, black, white. Only thing in common was St. Mary's football. Yet, i still remember the day he invites me into his sorm room and says here listen to these guys...(Metallica). Never heard of them before, but next thing you know Im blarring Metallica in my locker before games!! Thanx Wolf for the openness that Im sure so many others have experienced. Big Bear hug to you brotha. R.I.P.

Carl was my younger first cousin. We grew up in close circles together with his lovely family Bonnie, Joe, and Sep. I had the honor of being Carl's bro. I baby sat him, took him and Sep to concerts, and tried to teach him some guitar just to name a few. Time and distance sometimes separates adults. This last Christmas we hung out in Aptos like so many occasions before. Carl would always give me hug and tell me he loved me. With him, you knew it was from the heart. His loss has been overwhelming. I love you my brother....God bless you.

I worked with Carl at the Pasadena Weekly back in 2002-2003. He was such a jovial guy and always gave me inner joy whenever talking with him. He always had a zest for everything he did and I remember how he would always play "Sweet Caroline" in the office whenever we published our Thursday issue. As a writer, I inserted a character in my unpublished novel simply given the name "Carl," and describing a scene between his character and the main character in what seemed like verbatim small talk in what he said to me back in 2002. I think he was suggesting where I should take my wife (back then my girlfriend) for our 1st date. I haven't seen him in years but I know I'll miss him forever. God bless you, Carl!

Carl was such an inspiration. When I think about growing up together in Aptos, I specifically remember how Carl would walk into class and the energy in the room would light up. He was funny, charismatic, talented, smart, and a friend to all walks of life. Thanks to Carl sharing his faith openly - it had a profound impact on my life a few years ago, and I now do the same. He never even knew that he planted that seed in my life (which is now full of so many blessings). Galatians 2:20 is such a fitting verse about Carl's life here, and I look forward to seeing him again in Eternity one day. My deepest thoughts and prayers for your loss, he was a wonderful man.

I am in shock. I worked with Carl at York Gallery years ago and always loved being around the big teddy bear! I think of his smile often.

I am willing to say the only friends that Carl did not have are the people that he did not meet. Gods love showed in everything he did. Though we are mourning his loss right now it brings great joy to know that if I live my life as he did that I will get to see him again in heaven
