Judith "Judy" Arlene Hernandez (White), 71, died on February 6, 2013 surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.
Judy was a life-long Santa Cruz county resident. She was born in Watsonville in 1941 and graduated from Watsonville High School, Class of 1960.
In addition to being a loving mother and a great cook, Judy enjoyed volunteering as a Pink Lady for Dominican Hospital and her work with the Miss California pageant during the 1980s. She also enjoyed working at Seagate for several years.
Judy is survived by her six children and their families: Gregory Pacheco of Boise, ID, Steven Pacheco of Watsonville, Marc Pacheco of Santa Cruz, Martin Hernandez of Scotts Valley and Tiffany Hernandez and Allison (Hernandez) Ruddick of Aptos. She is also survived by her siblings Martha Close (White) of Roseville and Paul White of Santa Cruz and by her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Francis White and her husband Marty Hernandez.
A private memorial will be held at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.

To all the Pacheco and Hernandez siblings, your Moms passing is a sad event. She was a great lady! Her pain is over and yours will fade. Cherish the memories and hold each other close!

Judy you will be missed. I remember your beautiful smile as I walked in the lobby every morning. I also remember your delicious German Chocolate Cake. I've also admired your kindness to others and so much love that you've shared with us. Love you. Grace

Such a great lady!! To Allison and Marc, please know that your Mom always made everyone at Seagate feel like one of her own children. I will truly miss her smile and boundless energy.
