I remember a wonderful visit with Paul prior to our family moving to Caracas, Venezuela for a Park Planning assignment for Canaima National Park, an eight million acre expanse of jungle, savannah and mountains, rivers and several thousand natives. It was a good visit and with Paul's experience with Park Planning he was very interested and helpful as this was my first planning event outside the United States. Paul was a real asset to the National Park Service through his long career, and left a successful series of wonderful accomplishments in park planning through his efforts. I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. I alwo regret that I had lost contact with Paul and Elsie. We served in Jordan together. Paul and I hunkered down in his home during the 6 day war.

My wife and I served with Paul and his wife in Jordan. His WW II Army Air Corps service was heroic.

Know that you have our condolences over the passing of Paul. We recall that before we traveled to Venezuela for an assignment with the National Park Service, that Paul met with us and answered some of our concerns about travelling outside the US with our two young boys for a six month period. He was so nice and helpful and had a lot of answers. We know that you will enjoy remembering a lifetime of experiences with Paul and the National Park Service.

We retired here in Carlsbad after 37 NPS years, the last at Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas.

Blessings to the entire family.
