David James Obituary

DAVID BYRON BALDWIN JAMES David Byron Baldwin James passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Santa Fe on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the age of 77. He was a retired Yale professor, published poet and author. David was preceded in death by his mother, Millie James, and his father, Byron James. He is survived by his son, Byron James, daughters, Matilda Herndon, Ada James, Willa James, and grandchildren, Trinity and Serenity Herndon. A Remembrance will be held at 2:00pm, November 29, 2014, at the Quaker House, 630 Canyon Road Santa Fe NM, 87501.

I had no idea he'd died until now, when I was trying to look him up to contact him. I wish I'd gone down to see him again while he was still alive. David inspired me at a time where I was wandering- and encouraged me to wander some more. My condolences to his family and friends.

My deepest condolences to his loving family. With gratitude for all you gave him. David was a man who found the beauty in this world, who brought love and gladness. A poet, Bragwin. Profound intelligence, with a joyful loving heart. He will always be held in my heart , with love & gladness that he lived.
