Edward Gilmour Obituary

EDWARD ELLIS GILMOUR Edward Ellis Gilmour returned to the stars on September, 23 2014. A lifelong aficionado of UFO lore and assorted esoterica, Ed was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on May 6, 1930. He attended Albany Academy, followed by the Hotchkiss School. Seeking the secret of life, Ed studied Philosophy at Yale University. The secret remained elusive. He moved to Boston for medical school, doing his psychoanalytic training in NYC at William Alanson White Institute. Ed worked many years at St. Luke's Hospital and the Ittleson Center for Child Research. Moving to Cape Cod in 1982, Ed worked private practice until moving to Santa Fe in 1995. On staff at the Behavioral Health unit, St. Vincent Hospital until 2000, he also kept a private practice until 2006. He moved to Gallup and was deeply dedicated to the clientele of the PMS clinic. Ed retired in 2012, returning to upstate NY and his extended family. A private memorial is planned there on his birthday. In the days preceding his death from cancer, Ed encountered the secret of life. He echoed a theme from his beloved "X-Files", cheerfully announcing! "The truth Is out there"!

In loving memory of a wonderful person and Doctor. Doctor Gilmour was the best person and doctor I ever knew and he helped me so much through my difficult times. I will never forget him. I was sad to see him leave the Cape. I am happy to hear The Truth Is Out There.
