Edward "Ted" Pinhey
Edward "Ted" Pinhey, 96, passed away peacefully on 11/23/2010 surrounded by family.
Ted was born at Cumberland House, Saskatchewan, Canada on 9/10/1914, the second child of T.K. & Daisy Pinhey. When Daisy was expecting her third child. William, they left by canoe to Winnepeg, Canada for civilization. They later located to Vancouver, British Columbia, where Ted had a wonderful childhood. Ted spent his teen years at Fairfax High in Hollywood, where he was on the champion football team in his Senior year. He made many lifelong friends there and went to his Senior Prom with Barbara Kent, a movie actress, when his date couldn't attend.
He is survived by sons, Edward "Ned" Pinhey (wife Dee) of Three Rivers, CA, Thomas K. Pinhey (wife Donna) of Morro Bay, CA and Nicholas "Nick" Pinhey (wife Rene) of Turlock, CA. and stepdaughter Judy Albrecht (Bob), stepson Gary Gray (Cindy), Alpine Tx, 14 grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren
Ted was predeceased by first wife Dorothy, second wife Lucille, daughter Sheila and brothers Tom & William.
He served in both the British Merchant Marines in 1933 and the American Merchant Marines during World War II in the Pacific theater. Ted was in the grain milling industry most of his life, but was also hospital administrator at St. Erns and Human Resource manager at Sports Coach when he retired. Ted traveled extensively to England, Europe and Australia as well as Canada, mostly by freighter ships, before settling in Coarsegold for the wonderful 15 years with his second wife. They relocated to Santa Maria in 2003 for health reasons.
A private service will be held by family in Coarsegold, CA.
at a later date.

My condolences to Tom and Donna.What a wonderful and interesting biography.I never met Ted but I remember brother Ned from LSU days.Love to all.Kokos Markides [email protected]
