Marvin Maloney Obituary

Marvin M. Maloney
Marvin M. Maloney was born December 31, 1933 in Key, Kentucky to Marvin and Thelma Maloney. He died November 29, 2010, in Santa Maria, California.
Marvin married Wanda Lee Hinkle July 3, 1953 in Eccles, West Virginia. They soon started a family while Marvin's army career took them to various parts of the United States. Marvin left the Army as a Sgt. in 1962 and moved his growing family to California. He worked several years in the aerospace industry before settling as a foreman at the Okonite Company in Santa Maria. After many years of service Marvin retired from Okonite and was hired as an engineer with Davis-Standard Co., which took him to various parts of the world. Tiring of his business travels, Marvin retired again, this time to Alabama where he lived contentedly for a number of years before finally returning to Santa Maria in 2008.
Marvin is survived by his children; Marvin Shannon Maloney, Alan Craig Maloney (Patricia), Tami Marie Maloney (Stephen Seeger), Kathleen Maloney (Butch Nogues), Sabrina Mae Maloney (Phil Salmans), and Michael Shane Maloney. He is also survived by his former wife of 39 years, and the mother of his children, Wanda Lee Beaumont, sisters Molly Allen, Juanita Carter and Shirley Ellis, brother Pat Maloney, 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Thelma Maloney and brothers Bill and Tom Maloney.
Marvin prided himself on always providing well for his family and instilling a strong work ethic in each of his six children. He was a proud American, Veteran of the Korean War, and Republican. We have special memories of dad and will miss him very much.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., December 6, 2010, at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary, with burial to follow at a later date in Kentucky

I loved all the times that Pudge visited WV and the one long term stay he had right below mom and dad. I really got to know him during this time with dinners together at mom and dad's house and even a few trips to Beckley together. Pudge always wanted to help, physical labor or just a listening ear. I will always remember that and his smile.

There was always great excitement when Uncle Pudge came for a visit. I always thought he was a dignified, lovely man. He never stopped talking about his kids. He was so proud of you all. I loved his silly giggle. My thoughts and prayers are with his brother, sisters, and children. I picture him in Heaven right now, sitting on the front porch with Grandma, having a cup of coffee and talking about folks.

Uncle Pudge,
You always called me your "Little Liberal Niece". Truth be known, I agreed with you on many things, but it was too darn fun fussing with you. Thank you so much for listening to me when I needed you and giving me hope when I was down. I am going to miss your humor and most of all I am going to miss your laugh.
Love to you and all of your family.
