1932 – 2010
Mike Buentiempo, loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in Guadalupe.
Mike was born on May 29, 1932 in Brawley, CA to Miguel G. and Maria Louisa Buentiempo.
Mike went to Grammer School in Guadalupe, graduating from Santa Maria High School in 1952. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp and was always proud of his service.
Mike lived an exemplary life. He always worked hard for his family and was most happy spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was so very proud of all of them and expected them to do their best and make themselves proud of what they accomplish in life.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Albert, his sister Maria Louisa "Licha", his son David Buentiempo and his daughter Allison Bailey.
Mike is survived by his brothers whom he loved dearly Carlos and Henry Buentiempo, his wife Jo, his sons Jim (Tracey), Kelly (Maryhelen), Marc (Stephanie) and his daughters Mickey Buentiempo and Pilar Robinson (Pete). 16 grandchildren: Jessie, Jeffery, Cheyenne, Jason, Louie II, Emmett, Jacob, Casey, Max, Travis, Tyler, Monte, Luke, Marissa, Laney and Damon. Nine great grandchildren: Sierra, Zander, Garrett, Jennica, Gavin, Sophia, Starr, Louie III and Lola. As well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mike will be missed greatly but we are so thankful and privileged to have had him in our lives.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment will follow in the Guadalupe Cemetery.
Arrangements are in the care of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home and Crematory. Sympathy notes and words of support may be expressed at www.magnermaloney.com.

Jo I never had the pleasure of meeting you I went to school with Henry met Mike after graduation from High school. He was a gentleman and always had a great smile and sense of humor. Last time I saw him was at a mutual friends funeral he spoke of his family and could tell he was very proud of all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you

worked with mike as a painter. had a few tall ones with him after work. he was always the same man. i echo the Yarrington's comments about him living the literal interpretation of his name. he was an instant friend. had advice that was wise and good,and used his own advice.my comment to the Yarrington's that we are given one life but have to give it back must be followed by saying that i am sure that Mike was extremely reluctant to step into the return line

Aunt Jo and Family,
Keeping you all in our prayers. So sorry we can't be with you, but are thinking of you all. It is so hard to lose the ones we love but I know the love you all share will help you get through this hard time and we will all cherish the special memories of a very special man. Uncle Mike's kindness and special sense of humor will stay in our hearts forever.

My wife, Kumi, and I were only able to meet Mike once, but it is a memory that we shall always cherish in our hearts. Our heartfelt sorrow goes out to the Buentiempo family in their loss that is now being deeply felt by family and friends alike.
