Minnie Peinado Obituary

Minnie Peinado
Minnie Peinado, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and tia passed away peacefully at her home on October 1, 2010, after a lengthy, hard fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family as she went to be with the Lord.
She was born in Santa Maria on April 16, 1949. She worked for Comcast as a Customer Service Manager for 30 years. After a brief retirement, she returned to the workforce at The Santa Maria Digestive Diagnostic Center. Minnie touched many hearts with her beautiful smile, loving nature, along with her encouraging words. There was not a person that met Minnie who could not help but fall in love with her. She was a woman of great faith and was at peace with meeting her creator, Lord Jesus Christ. She was an active member of the St. Louis De Montfort Parish and enjoyed singing with the Coro Peregrino.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Cruz Peinado, her daughters, Nancy Zaragoza and husband Damon, Christy McKenzie and her husband Don, her grandsons whom she adores, Anthony, Jacob and Joshua Zaragoza, and Tanner McKenzie, and her only granddaughter Alexis McKenzie, "her mamasita." She is also survived by her sister Ciria Blackwell, and brother Luis Gonzales, both from Arizona, and her brothers David, Moises, and Richard Torres, all of Santa Maria and lastly, her caring family, the Peinados. She was preceded in death by her mother Minnie Torres, and her brother Anthony Calderon.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. at St. Louis De Montfort Church, followed by the Rosary which will begin at 7:15 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Louis De Montfort Church. Burial will follow at the Santa Maria Cemetery.
We will miss her dearly and she will remain in our hearts forever!
Like Minnie would say "God Bless You!"
Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

I am so sorry to hear the loss of your Mom.
I went to High School with your Mom - I will alway remember her beautiful smile & how she could bright-up your day - telling jokes & making us laugh. I saw Minnie several month's ago - and I was crying because my mother was dying. She told me to have Faith in the Lord and no matter what happen "its God will" & just be there. She helped to see beyond the fear. I have no words to express the sadness & the loss of your Mom. May God keep your family in the "Palm of his Hands" for protection in this difficult time. My deepest sorrows - Lety Delgadillo & family

Words fail to express the sorrow I feel for you and your family. Minnie was a light on this Earth who touched everyone she came into contact with in a positive way. I loved and learned so much from her, and I was blessed to know her. Warm hugs to all of you.

Nancy and Christy,

The world has lost a brilliant soul. I remember your mother as being kind, thoughtful, and giving. Remember when we where kids, and I would be at your house? Sometimes your mom would heat a tortilla up on the stove and melt butter on it for us to eat. To this day, I still eat tortillas that way all because of your mom. I am so sorry you lost your mother. I am sending warm hugs your way......
