Stephen Paul Ferrel
Stephen Paul Ferrel, age 53, passed away in Santa Maria on October 29th, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Steve was a big Pittsburgh Steelers and USC Trojan football fan. He enjoyed going to watch USC play football. Steve enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved to volunteer his time at the Valley Christian Academy.  He also enjoyed cooking and hanging out at the beach and going to the cliffs to watch sporting events. He loved reading his Bible and attending First Baptist Church – He mentored many. He was a hard worker and self employed as a handyman until his early retirement in 2003. Steve attended Miller School, El Camino, and Santa Maria High School before joining the Job Corp in Oregon. He lived and worked in the Stockton area before returning to this area in 2000 to be closer to family. Steve was a very caring person and always put others needs before his own. We Love You!
He is survived by his daughter Nina Ferrel of Stockton, his mother Virginia Lucero of Santa Maria, step-father Gilbert Lucero of Santa Maria, sisters Vicky Lopez (Frank) of Santa Maria and Rosa Aguliera of Santa Maria; brother Bob Ferrel Sr. (Connie) of Santa Maria, Godchild, Mary (his mini-me) Ferrel of Santa Maria, grandmother Albertina Molina of Atascadero, and a very special and dear aunt Thelma Lopez of Santa Maria. Steve also leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces. A very special thank you to Pastor Jim Schettler and two very special friends: George Groce and Pat, who were always there for Steve.
Steve is preceeded in death by paternal  grandparents Pedro and Ramona Ferrel,  maternal grandfather Cruz Rivera, father, Manuel Ferrel, Sr., brothers Manuel Ferrel Jr. and Vincent Ferrel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 3rd at 12:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, 2970 Santa Maria Way, Santa Maria. Interment will follow at Santa Maria Cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Victor Cruz, Albert Wilson, Bobby Ferrel, Jr., Reggie Becerra, Frank Lopez, Jr., Jonathan Hernandez, Frank Lopez lll, and Dustin Taylor. Honorary Pall bearer will be Rick Martinez, Sr.

Hey familia, not ever easy to say anything for me, Steve will be missed. I know I have not seen him in years but life being what it is I still have time to say something. I am happy for Steve he doesn't have to suffer in this cruel world anymore, God place him here for his purpose and his purpose was over. Steve you are in Heaven with our Father God, say hi to my dad and mom for me and give than a hug and just say hi to the rest of family also. We are here for his purpose I am ready to go many blessings to the Ferrel family Steve is happy But will be missed deeply.
