William Shade Obituary

William (Bill) Michael Shade
Bill Shade, 44, of Santa Maria went missing June 19th, after attempting to rescue is daughters dog. He was recovered on August 13th from Chiquito Creek at Mammoth Pools Reservoir in Madera County, CA. Bill was born July 18, 1966 in Torrance, CA to Marie Michele Shade and Michael Robert Shade. He grew up in Redondo Beach, CA before moving to Santa Maria. Bill attended Orcutt Junior High and Righetti High School.
Bill was a member of the Carpenters Union for the past 21 years, recently working for Lewis C. Nelson and Sons in Mendota, CA. He always strived for excellence in everything he did and obtained his goal of becoming Superintendent.
Bill is preceded in death by his father Michael Shade, paternal grandfather William Shade, maternal grandparents Carl and Irene Saltsman.
Although, he had a love of carpentry, his love for his family was greater. He worked extremely hard to provide for his family, working out of town for the past five years. The most important thing in his life was his girls whom he cherished. Bill had a love for the outdoors traveling across the United States and returning home through Canada. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, movies and had dabbled in gardening as a pass time. Sometimes on the weekends he loved to sleep on his mothers couch while relaxing and watching TV.
He is survived by his daughters Amber and Brittany Shade of Orcutt, mother Michele and step father Edward Chisum of Santa Maria, paternal grandmother Rita Shade of Lakewood, CA, sister Sherise Villamor and her husband Ricky of Murietta, CA, brothers Cesar Mendoza and his wife Ramona of Sandy, OR and Michael Shade Jr. of San Bernadino, CA., nieces Stacia, Alexis and Jade Villamor and nephew Christian Mendoza.
He lived life to the fullest with no fear in his heart; he will be forever missed by his family and friends. Bill touched many people through his twelve step recovery program.
The family would like to thank the Madera County Sheriffs Department , and the efforts made by the Search and Rescue and Swift Water Teams. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Santa Maria Cemetery.

Bill and my brother Eric were very good friends, that is how my family knew him while growing up in Orcutt. I was truly saddened when Eric called to tell us about Bill missing, and then your tragic loss..My heart goes out to his daughters and his family.
